Windows Basics

If you have used a computer for any length of time, you've seen one version of Windows replaced by another. Worse, both Internet Explorer (Microsoft's web browser) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and more) change independently of Windows itself. Memorizing a list of steps is not enough to make you comfortable with your computer; at some point, each of us needs to learn how Windows works. On the other hand, if you're intimidated by the computer, you don't want to be deluged with technical detail.

Windows Basics is our attempt to walk that fine line. It consists of two sessions, each two hours long. We cap the enrollment at ten students (first-come/first-served). We have a desktop computer loaded with Windows XP for each student. (If you want to bring your laptop to the class, that's fine — even if it has a different version of Windows; we're willing if you are.) Also, we include our 30-page handout with each enrollment. Call 319 465-4800 or e-mail knopp@cztopcomputers.com to find out when Windows Basics is next scheduled.
