Service Call
Some problems cannot be fixed here in the store; usually these involve a
network, a printer, or an e-mail connection. These are problems that can often
be fixed quickly, which is good. Normally, a technician can switch from one job
to another, minimizing wasted time. On a service call, that efficiency is lost,
so we have to bill service calls accordingly; our current pricing policy is
given below. Other problems are best dealt with in our shop; most notably,
virus removal, which has long periods of down-time while a program scans or
Windows installs.
Prices for service calls
- Within the 52310 zip code or the (319) 465-xxxx
dialing area
- $65 flat fee, up to 30 minutes
- Time over 30 minutes to billed at $50 per hour, rounding up to the next
0.1hour.
- Outside both the 52310 zip code and the (319)
465-xxxx dialing area
- Within 15 miles of Monticello, add $10 to the flat fee; time over 30
minutes is still billed at $50 per hour, as above.
- More than 15 miles from Monticello, add $1.20 per mile to the flat fee;
time over 30 minutes is still billed at $50 per hour, as above.
